Cave campground is a primitive site located in the Lincoln National Forest. The cave is closed, but there were many trails very close to the campsites. We were the only humans at the entire campground, but elk and coyotes accompanied us through the night and early morning.
We slept well, the temp being in the high 40s, and took a marvelous sunrise hike through the hillside. We spent the rest of the morning relaxing, workingout, doing yoga, and enjoying the gorgeous landscape.
This is probably one of my top favorite spots so far, and it’s easy to see why.
